JASIST recognized the publication of Dr. Bhaskar Mukherjee

We are very glad to inform you all that JASIST, peer reviewed international journal has accepted and published an research article entitled “Do open-access journals in library and information science have any scholarly impact? A bibliometric study of selected open-access journals using Google Scholar” authored by Dr. Bhaskar Mukherjee, Assistant Professor of the Department. The article can be had from JASIST Volume 60, Issue 3, Pages 581-594. The article was sent on February, 2008 and accepted for publication on October, 2008. Department launches Alumni Association Website

We are very glad to inform you that Department of Library & Information Science, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi has now started the official functioning of Department’s Alumni Association from 8th March, 2009.

Prof. H. N. Prasad, Head of the Department has inaugurated the official website of the Department’s Alumni Association in a very plain function. Website is now open for the registration of alumnae of the Department.
